About the Director

A Few Words about the Director

Kwame Gyamfi is from Jacksonville, NC. He attended North Carolina State University and received both his Masters Degree in Technology and International Development (MTID) and his undergraduate degree in Communications.

Mr. Gyamfi is a former Fellows/Intern from the United Nations in New York where he worked with the United Nations Centre of Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to assist small to medium business at the EMPRETEC program in Accra - Ghana.
In 2001, Mr. Gyamfi accepted a software engineering position at NASA headquarters where he developed financial and reporting applications for the Aerospace Division in Washington, D.C. In 2003, Mr. Gyamfi was one of the software engineers selected to join the NASA Integrated Financial Management Project (IFMP) team.
In the realm of higher education, Mr. Gyamfi served as Chief Information Officer at Southeastern University, where he led the development of the Student Technology Administrative Resource System (STARS), a comprehensive web-based portal integrating academic, administrative, and financial systems with the Datatel ERP.

Mr. Gyamfi has supported mission-critical systems at several federal agencies, including the Department of Labor, State Department, Department of Education, General Services Administration (GSA), Department of the Interior, and Department of Defense. His expertise includes legacy system modernization, ColdFusion and Oracle development, student information systems, and data analytics platforms. He is also experienced in Agile methodologies, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and enterprise application integration (EAI).

Currently, Mr. Gyamfi supports the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) of Maryland with IT services and continues to consult on software and data engineering projects. He is passionate about veteran advocacy and emerging technologies such as AI and large language models (LLMs).

Mr. Gyamfi is a husband and proud father of four children and currently resides in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. in Bowie, Maryland.
